About
Originally a fashion designer in South Korea, Jiyun moved to the UK where she moved into textile design for fashion and selling her designs to clients including Valentino at Premiere Vision indigo, Direction and Pitti Filati.
Jiyun took experience from textile design and a passion for pattern cutting and studied the MA Fashion Design and Technology course at London College of Fashion, achieved a Distinction and worked for Ossie Clark London and Vivienne Westwood. Her MA Graduation Collection in 2009 received much positive press and buyer attention. Soon after graduation Jiyun’s pattern cutting skill led to work for Caroline Seikaly in Paris. In 2009 and 2010, during her time with former members of Karl Lagerfeld’s team, she flourished in draping special couture dresses.
Jiyun’s designs are poetic and elegant, they are an innovative mixture of draping, tailoring and manipulating fabric for functional detail within the garments. The resulting garments show a master couturier at work, beautiful garments realised through an obsession for inventiveness and creativity.
