Jiyun Lapthorn
Jiyun Lapthorn’s first collection was shown at the V&A to an all-star crowd including Grayson Perry, Zandra Rhodes and Harold Tillman. Press reported on the stand-out collection highlighting “beautifully cut jackets with Balmain-esque shoulders” (The Guardian) and “exquisite inky draped numbers” (Vogue.com). Established designer Ziad Ghanem described “a real ‘couture masters at work’ feel…garments elegantly draped over the body to unveil a stunning collection and a true talent” (Fashion Capital).
Designs take into account the dynamics of movement and fabric, creating architectural drama whilst maintaining a classic and enduring feel.
